To prevent altitude sickness, acclimatize properly by taking rest days at higher altitudes, drinking plenty of water, and avoiding overexertion. Listen to your body and descend if you experience symptoms like headaches or dizziness.

Along the trail, you'll find teahouses offering basic but comfortable accommodations. Rooms are simple. Most teahouses provide meals and a warm place to rest.

The cost of the EBC trek varies depending on factors like guide and porter fees, accommodation, meals, and flights to Lukla. On average, it can cost anywhere from $1,200 to $2,000 USD, not including personal expenses or souvenirs.

The food along the trek is basic but nutritious, including dal Bhat (lentil soup with rice), noodles, potatoes, pasta, and soups. Most teahouses offer Western and Nepali dishes, though options are limited the higher you go.

It’s important to build stamina by hiking or walking regularly before your trip. Cardiovascular exercises like running, cycling, or swimming will help you prepare for long days of trekking. Focus on leg strength and endurance.

Trekking in winter (December to February) is not possible because it is much more challenging due to colder temperatures and snow. Tea houses may be closed, and the trail can be more difficult to navigate. If you choose to trek during winter, you can trek up to Namche Bazaar.
