The Mardi Himal trek provides stunning views of some of the highest peaks in the world, including Mardi Himal, Machapuchare (Fishtail), Annapurna South, and Hiunchuli. Furthermore, the trek trails are less crowded and relatively quieter, allowing trekkers to enjoy the natural beauty and serenity without the crowds. This trek is for the individual seeking peaceful and intimate trekking.
The Mardi Himal Trek offers the luxury of reaching glaciers in just 3-4 days, perfect for those with limited time. This trek provides a high-altitude landscape and stunning views, especially of Machapuchare (Fishtail Mountain). The difficulty level of the Mardi Himal trek is moderate, and the best season is around the year. However, it is good to avoid rainy seasons in July and August. Spring and autumn are the best seasons. Spring brings blossoming rhododendrons and lush greenery, while autumn offers clear skies and mild temperatures, making for ideal trekking conditions. However, it’s a good idea to check weather forecasts and trail conditions before starting on your trek, as weather patterns can vary.
The route we will follow for the Mardi Himal Trek is: Pokhara (885m) – Phedi – Deurali (2,100m) – Forest Camp (2,520m) – Lower Camp (2,970m) – Higher Camp (3,540m) – Upper Viewpoint (4,250m) – Lower Camp – Australia Camp (2,060m) – Kande – Pokhara.
After flying over the peaks of the Himalayas, you will land at Tribhuvan International Airport. Upon arrival, our Airport representative will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel in Kathmandu. After checking in to the hotel, freshening up, and enjoying free time, you can explore Kathmandu or rest at your hotel. Overnight rest in the hotel.
After breakfast, you will drive through an impressive mountain landscape, passing peaceful villages, to reach Pokhara (200 km), which takes around 6 to 7 hours. Pokhara is also known as the city of Lakes and caves. It offers a wonderful view of the immediate and up-close mountain panorama of the Annapurna massif. Numerous hiking trails in the Annapurna area start from here. Overnight in Pokhara.
Your official trek will start on the third day of the Mardi Himal trek. After breakfast, you will drive towards Phedi, a half-hour drive from Pokhara. The trek starts from Phedi, taking you through rocky ravines, terraced farms, and forests. The hike is around 4 to 5 hours, depending upon your pace.
From Dhampus, you’ll walk towards Deurali. Perched on the ridge, Deurali is a beautiful village offering splendid views. Enjoy marvelous views of Annapurna South, Mardi Himal, Manaslu, and Machapuchare along the way. Overnight in Deurali.
Today, you will trek from Deurali to Forest Camp, at an elevation of 2,520 meters. The trek will last 5 to 6 hours. It is a rewarding journey through some of the most beautiful lush forests in the Annapurna region. It offers trekkers a chance to immerse themselves in nature and enjoy the tranquility of the mountains. The forest is adorned with vibrant rhododendron plants – Nepal’s national flowers – and rare bird species
While the trek is moderately challenging, the serene environment and the beauty of the trail make it a memorable part of your trekking adventure. After reaching the Forest Camp, you’ll rest and explore the popular tourist destination, Khokhar, in the evening. Overnight stay at Forest Camp.
We will trek from Forest Camp through Lower Camp to Higher Camp, which takes about 5-6 hours. Trek begins by climbing through a lush forest, which showcases a diverse range of flora and fauna. As you ascend, you’ll reach the valley, where you can enjoy breathtaking views of Mount Fishtail (Machapuchare). Continue to Higher Camp, where you will spend the night.
Overnight stay in Higher Camp.
Today, you will climb to the Upper Viewpoint. Get ready to witness a fascinating panorama of the mountains, including Mardi Himal, Baraha Shikhar, Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Tent Peak, Hiunchuli, Singhachuli, Machhapuchhre, and more. Enjoy the view from the top, after enjoying the scene, descend back over pastures and a steep, narrow ridge to Lower Camp. Overnight in Lower Camp.
On the return journey, you will take a different route through Deurali to reach Australia Camp.
The trek from Lower Camp to Australia Camp takes about 5-6 hours, depending on your pace. Follow your own path as you descend through Deurali. Enjoy diverse landscapes and the peaceful environment as you make your way to Australia Camp. Overnight stay in Australia Camp.
Today is the last day of your Mardi Himal trek. After breakfast, you’ll hike for about 1.5 hours to Kande. After reaching Kande, you’ll drive back to Pokhara. Relax and enjoy night life of Pokhara. Overnight in Pokhara.
After breakfast, check out from the hotel around 8:00 am. You will drive back to the east of Pokhara on the Pokhara – Kathmandu highway. If the weather is clear, you can once again enjoy the breathtaking views of the beautiful Himalayan range, including renowned mountains like Ganesh Himal, Himalchuli, Manaslu, and Annapurna, on your journey to Kathmandu. Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.
Today is the last day of your trek. You can go for a last-minute shopping, depending on your flight schedule. Our representative will transfer you to the airport, depending on your flight time.
