Starting in vibrant Kathmandu, you’ll explore its UNESCO World Heritage sites, then take a scenic flight to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region. Trek through picturesque Sherpa villages, experiencing their warm hospitality, delicious local cuisine, and unique culture, far from the city’s bustle.
You’ll trek along the beautiful Dudh Koshi valley to the bustling Namche Bazaar, the heart of Sherpa life. With two nights in Namche, you’ll acclimatize and explore Sherpa communities like Khunde and Khumjung. The route then leads to Tengboche Monastery, where stunning views of Mount Everest, Ama Dablam, and other towering peaks await.
The adventure reaches its peak at Kala Patthar (5,545m), offering the best panoramic view of Everest and its surrounding giants. You’ll stand just 10 kilometers from the world’s highest mountain, soaking in the majesty of the Himalayas. The trek continues to Everest Base Camp (5,364m), making your dream of standing at the foot of Mount Everest a reality.
Though challenging due to the altitude, proper acclimatization and the guidance of an experienced trek leader make the journey enjoyable. The best time to take Everest Base Camp is during the clear and crisp months of March to May and September to November, which ensure perfect weather.
Highlights of the trek include exploring Sherpa culture, passing through Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Gorak Shep, and other scenic spots, all while trekking to Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar on a budget-friendly adventure.
After an exhilarating flight to Lukla (2840m), we trek through the narrow valley of the Dudh Koshi to Namche Bazaar, the commercial center of the Sherpas. To acclimatize, we spend two nights in Namche Bazaar, exploring two typical Sherpa settlements, Khunde and Khumjung. Along this route, we pass through the Tengboche Monastery (3880m) and enjoy views of Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and other peaks throughout the trek.
The highlight of the trek is reaching the best viewpoint for Everest and the highest point on this route, Mt. Kala Patthar (5545m), which is located just 10 km away from the world’s highest peak. This vantage point offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan giants.

Today, we will be sightseeing around Kathmandu, visiting various UNESCO-listed world heritage sites such as Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, and Swayambhunath Stupa in Boudhanath Stupa, which are famous tourist spots in Kathmandu.
Kathmandu Durbar Square: Located in the heart of Kathmandu showcasing the rich architecture and cultural heritage. These main attractions are visiting temples, palaces built between the 12th and 18th centuries, Hanuman Dhoka, and the Kumari Ghar(home of the living goddess).
Swayambhunath: Known as Monkey Temple, it lies on the top Hill of Kathmandu Valley, offering a panoramic view of Kathmandu from the top. Both Buddhists and Hindus revere this Heritage Site. It features a stupa with Buddha’s eyes painted on it, symbolizing the Buddha’s all-seeing nature, and is surrounded by monasteries.
Another site we will visit is the Pashupatinath Temple, which is one of the most important sites of pilgrimage for all Hindus and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is located on the bank of the Bagmati River, and devotees around the world visit here to offer their prayers.
Boudhanath: One of the popular tourist destinations of Kathmandu, giving a spiritual vibe with Tibetan chanting and mantras. Spend some quality time clicking pictures in the rooftop cafe and enjoy local Tibetan cuisine there. Around the Stupa there are many souvenir shops and handicraft items in local shops which you can take back home.
Start your day with an early morning flight from Kathmandu or Manthali to Lukla. If the flight from Kathmandu is unavailable, we will arrange a 4-hour drive to Manthali and then take a flight to Lukla. The trek starts with a descent to Cheplung, offering views of the sacred mountain Mt. Khumbila. Further, descend to Phakding. Overnight stay at Trekkers Lodge.
Continuing our journey to Namche Bazaar, where we will trek through a pine forest, cross the Dudh Koshi River, and pass Chumoa and Monjo villages. Enjoying scenic views throughout our hike, we will reach the entrance of Everest National Park, cross a suspension bridge to Jorsale, and ascend to the iconic Namche Bazaar. The trek will take around 5 hours. Then, we will stay overnight at Namche Bazaar.
Today is Acclimatization Day at Namche Bazaar, which is important for our body to adjust to the increasing altitude. You can leisurely explore Namche Bazaar. We will also hike toward the Everest viewpoint, where we will enjoy a close view of Mt. Everest, including Lhotse, Makalu, Ama Dablam, and more. Finally, we will spend a night at Namche Bazar, getting ready for the next day.
After a day of acclimatization from Namche Bazaar, we will head to Tengboche (3,870m). This trail leads through beautiful forests and offers stunning views of Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Nuptse, and Lhotse. The trek will take 5 to 6 hours. We will stay overnight at Tengboche.
Continuing our trek to Everest Base Camp, the itinerary will take us to Dingboche, which will take around 5 to 6 hours. We will trek downhill through rhododendron forests, take in the stunning views, and cross the Imja River to reach Pangboche. Then, visit Pangboche Monastery and ascend to Dingboche. Enjoy the picturesque fields and settlements. Overnight in Dingboche.
A relatively short trek from Dingboche to Lobuche. Ascend and descend through glacier paths, reach Chupki Lhara for panoramic mountain views, and continue to Lobuche. Overnight stay in Lobuche.
The trek from Dingboche to Lobuche is relatively short but rewarding. You’ll ascend and descend along glacier paths, making your way to Chupki Lhara, where you’ll be treated to breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. From there, the journey continues to Lobuche, nestled amidst towering peaks, for an overnight stay.
To get a stunning view of the sunrise, we will start our trek early in the morning to Kala Patthar, the highest point of the EBC trek. The sunrise from Kala Patthar is one of the highlights of our 16-day trek. Then, we will descend to Gorak Shep for breakfast and continue the journey to Pheriche. Overnight in Pheriche.
After spending the night in Pheriche, we will return to Namche Bazar. We will trek through rhododendron forests, crossing the Pangboche and reaching Tengboche. Along the way, we will enjoy panoramic views. We will stay overnight in Tengboche.
Beginning our day with a descent through lush rhododendron forests, crossing the Dudh Koshi River as you make your way back to Namche Bazaar. After a brief stop in this vibrant Sherpa town, continue hiking to Monjo, all while enjoying stunning panoramic views along the trail. Overnight stay in Monjo.
On Day 13 of your Everest Base Camp Trek, you’ll travel from Monjo back to Lukla, which is at an elevation of 2,845 meters. This hike will take about 5 hours, involves a mix of descending and ascending paths, and includes crossing several suspension bridges.
Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to visit monasteries and immerse yourself in the local culture. Upon reaching Lukla, take the time to rest and relax, as this marks your last day in the mountains.
Spend the night in Lukla, reflecting on the adventures and journey to Everest Base Camp and the wonderful memories you made.
Finally, we will return to Kathmandu or Manthali by catching an early morning flight. If the flight to Kathmandu is not operational, you will fly to Manthali. The drive back to Kathmandu from Manthali takes approximately 4 hours.

After breakfast, we will go on a half-day sightseeing tour to Bhaktapur, the most beautiful city in the Kathmandu valley.
Bhaktapur is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, you can see the Durbar Square, the pottery market, the famous peacock window, and the five-story Nyatapola Temple, Nepal’s highest pagoda.
Finally, drive back to Kathmandu. The rest of the day, you have free time for shopping or walking around Thamel.
Farewell dinner will be served in the evening to celebrate the successful 16 days of our adventurous trekking to Everest Base Camp. Overnight in Kathmandu.
