The Khopra Ridge Trek will officially start today. Following breakfast, we embark on a scenic drive from Pokhara to Ghandruk, a journey spanning approximately 2-3 hours. The route treats us to picturesque views of the Seti River. Upon arrival in Nayapul, we proceed with the check-in for the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) permits before continuing our drive to Ghandruk.

Ghandruk, a charming traditional Gurung village, awaits our exploration. After a brief tour of the village and a satisfying lunch, our trek to Tadapani commences. The initial segment of the Khopra Ridge Trek in the Annapurna region winds through lush forests, offering splendid vistas of Annapurna South, Machapuchare, and Hiunchuli.

The ascent towards Tadapani is steep and may take 4-5 hours, depending on your fitness. Rest assured, the effort is rewarded with a unique Himalayan experience. We conclude the day with an overnight stay at a Trekkers lodge in Tadapani.

Day 05: Tadapani – Dobato( 3350) 6 hrs:

Following breakfast, we commence our trek towards Dobato, navigating through enchanting forests and tackling steep ascents. The trail provides increased opportunities to spot wildlife, although the challenging incline adds an element of difficulty to the day. Periodic breaks are taken along the way, and lunch is enjoyed amidst the trekking route. After a fulfilling 6-7 hours of trekking, we reach Dobato. In the evening, a short uphill walk of 15-20 minutes takes us to Muldae Viewpoint, offering a mesmerizing sunset panorama. Overnight accommodation is provided in a Trekkers Lodge.

Day 06: Dobato-Chistibung( 3,000m):

Early in the morning, we’ll hike to Muldae Peak to catch the breathtaking sunrise. After returning to the lodge for breakfast, we’ll continue our trek to Chistibung. The trail features both ascents and descents as we traverse ridges and dense rhododendron forests.

Along the way, we might spot wildlife and glimpse local homes, adding charm to our journey. Today’s trek is relatively easier, with undulating paths leading us to Chistibung after 6-7 hours of hiking. Chistibung, a quaint village with Gurung and Magar communities, will be our overnight stop at a Trekkers Lodge.

Day 07: Chistibung-Khopra Danda (3680m)

Today marks a more leisurely start to our day as we embark on a relatively short trek from Chistibung to Khopra Danda. Although the distance is modest, the trail ascends, and it takes approximately 3 hours to reach Khopra Danda. Upon arrival, the afternoon is dedicated to savoring and soaking in the panoramic views of majestic mountains, including the world’s highest peaks like Dhaulagiri and Annapurna. Overnight stay is arranged in a Trekkers Lodge.

Day 08: Khopra Danda- Khopra Ridge (Khopra Ridge Lake) (4600m)

After breakfast, we head out from Khopra Danda towards Khayer Lake, taking in stunning views of the Dhaulagiri ranges along the way. The trail twists and turns with a mix of ascents and descents, offering glimpses of the Kali Gandaki Valley, the deepest in the world, nestled between Mt. Tukuche and Mt. Nilgiri.

As we trek through open fields bordered by barren mountains, we know we’re nearing Khayer Lake. A small teahouse provides a cozy spot for lunch before we continue the climb, passing symbolic temples and bells that weave the region’s mythological tales. When Khayer Lake finally appears, it’s framed by the imposing Annapurna South.

The descent back to Khopra Ridge takes about 3.5 hours. It offers stunning vistas that make the journey down as memorable as the climb up. We’ll spend the night at Trekkers Lodge, reflecting on the day’s awe-inspiring views.

Day 09: Khopra Ridge - Swanta Village (4660m)

Our day begins with a hearty breakfast and tea/coffee, preparing us for a relatively easier hike. The trail descends for most of the way to Swanta Village, covering approximately 10 kilometers. Along the route, we pause for lunch; the path alternates between ascents and descents, eventually leading us to Swanta Village. Nestled amidst scenic surroundings, Swanta is a charming but lesser-known village primarily inhabited by the Magar community. Overnight at Trekkers Lodge.

Day 10: Swanta Village – Ghorepani (2870m)

We start the day with a trek through flat terrain and terraced fields, crossing a river via a suspension bridge. The next 6 hours are mostly spent climbing uphill through a lush rhododendron forest. Our efforts are rewarded when we reach Ghorepani, where the views of the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges are nothing short of spectacular. We’ll spend the night in Ghorepani, soaking in the stunning scenery and reflecting on the day’s trek.

Day 11: Ghorepani-Hile-Pokhara,4-5 hrs walk and approximately 3 hours drive to Pokhara:

After soaking in the awe-inspiring views, we head back to the lodge for breakfast. Our trek then takes us through charming mountain villages like Nagythati, Banthati, and Ullari. We’ll enjoy lunch in Ullari before descending to Hile. From Hile, a local jeep whisks us on a 3-hour ride: first over rugged off-road terrain to Nayapul, then on paved roads towards Pokhara.

The day ends with a relaxing overnight stay in Pokhara, a perfect time to reflect on the incredible experiences and stunning vistas of the Khopra Ridge Trek.
