On the second day of our Kathmandu Tour Package, we will visit UNESCO-listed world heritage sites in the Kathmandu Valley. We will be visiting Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath Stupa, and Bouddhanath Stupa.
We will kick off our journey with sightseeing in Kathmandu Durbar Square. Durbar Square is a historical complex filled with ancient courtyards, palaces, and temples. The Highlights of Kathmandu Durbar Square are Hanuman Dhoka Palace, Kumari Ghar (home of the living goddess), Taleju Temple, and the Jagannath Temple. Experience the life of the royals in ancient Nepal and witness traditional Nepali architecture.
Swayambhunath Stupa, also known as Monkey Temple, is an ancient religious complex on a hill in Kathmandu Valley. The main stupa, with its iconic Buddha eyes, is the main highlight of Swayambhunath. There are various shrines and temples around the stupa. From the top, you can witness a panoramic view of Kathmandu.
Heading towards the next destination, Pashupatinath Temple, one of the holiest Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, lies near the bank of Bagmati. The main temple is a pagoda-style temple, and there are ghats (cremation sites) along the Bagmati River and numerous smaller temples and shrines. You may witness rituals and ceremonies, especially if your visit coincides with a festival.
Our final stop of the day is Bouddhanath Stupa, another iconic Stupa in the world. The stupa is the center of Tibetan Buddhism. The main highlight of Boudhanath is its massive mandala-stupa, surrounded by prayer wheels and adorned with colorful prayer flags. You can feel a spiritual vibe around Boudhanath, where you can observe monks and devotees circumnavigating the stupa while spinning prayer wheels.
After exploring these iconic sites of Kathmandu Valley, we will return to the hotel and get charged up for the next day.
Continuing our sightseeing journey in Kathmandu, we will visit Patan and Bhaktapur Durbar Square today. Beginning with Patan Durbar Square, one of the oldest Buddhist cities in the world, get ready to witness a beautiful array of temples, courtyards, and statues. Key attractions include the Krishna Mandir, Hiranya Varna Mahavihar (Golden Temple), and the intricately carved Mahaboudha Temple. Observe the exquisite Newari architecture, wood and stone carvings, and metalwork, soaking in the vibrant cultural atmosphere. Patan is known for its artisans and craftsmen, so this is an excellent place to purchase traditional handicrafts and artworks.
After exploring Patan Durbar Square, we will visit Bhaktapur, another beautiful city known for its well-preserved historical monuments and rich culture. Bhaktapur is home to numerous temples, statues, and palaces. Major attractions include the 55-Window Palace, Vatsala Temple, and the Lion Gate. Pottery Square is another highlight of Bhaktapur; watch traditional pottery making and perhaps try your hand at it. Along the way, you can see Peacock Window, an exquisite example of woodcarving, renowned as a masterpiece of Newari art. Not to forget A five-story pagoda and one of Nepal’s tallest temples, offering a commanding view of the square.
After soaking into the historical vibe in Patan and Bhaktapur, we will head towards our next destination, Nagarkot. You can relax and unwind in this peaceful hill station. A scenic drive from Bhaktapur to Nagarkot, known for its panoramic views of the Himalayan Mountain Range. On a clear day, you can see stunning views of the Himalayan peaks, including Mount Everest. Nagarkot is renowned for its spectacular sunrise and sunset views over the mountains.

The highlight of our Kathmandu Valley 4 Days (Luxury Tour) is the sunrise view from Nagarkot. To experience this, we’ll wake up early and hike up to the hilltop to witness a mesmerizing sunrise. From there, you’ll be treated to incredible vistas of the Himalayas, including Mt. Everest, Annapurna, Langtang, Manaslu, and more.
After enjoying the stunning views, we’ll return to the hotel for breakfast. Following breakfast, we’ll transfer you to the airport according to your flight schedule for your onward journey.
